KCOI LLP has successfully implemented in Caspian Sea, RoK the know-how and experience of its affiliated companies Rosetti Marino Group of Companies, Basis Engineering, Fores Engineering to deliver several shipbuilding/ship repair/modification projects in the region. Deep understanding of Kashagan environment and associated risks such as high H2S content has enabled us to master our skills in so called Temporary Refuge modules for personnel to escape and hide-out in case of emergency. One of the remarkable references combining Ship modification and Temporary Refuge concept completed in Republic of Kazakhstan is “Modification of the Living Quarter barge P-1 to a Temporary Refuge”. 

The project was successfully realized in 2012 for AGIP KCO (operator of Kashagan project) in KCOI “Temir at” fabrication yard in Aktau. SOW:

• Installation of Nr. 3 air-locks;
• Air breathing system installation;
• Existing Control System upgrading;

  One more impressive reference is “Living Quarter Barge KARLYGASH”. The EPC contract was completed successfully in 2006 for AGIP KCO. Since then the barge is in service to many NCOC NV projects. DESCRIPTION: 180 POB LQ Barge suitable for operation all year around in the North Caspian Sea both in grounded and floating condition. #Temporary #Refuge is pressurized and equipped with BA system capable of supporting life of 180 person in a hydrocarbon/toxic/explosive atmosphere for an endurance time of 120 minutes.
